Between2Worlds
It’s all in the name! On September 5th, 2025, the American government’s Department of Defence became the Department of War. And the world became a less safe place; countries in the Middle East were once considered safe havens ….. until suddenly they weren’t! On the 20th February, just after the Solar Eclipse, we experienced the Saturn/Neptune conjunction exact at 0 Aries. War broke out in the Middle East just before the Lunar Eclipse of March 3rd, and then on the 20th March, the Sun followed closely on the heels of Saturn and Neptune and entered Aries, the first sign of the zodiac, marking the Spring Equinox and the start of a new annual cycle. Astrologers cast a chart for this moment; it acts as a barometer of the coming year, making it crucial for understanding how the energy and focus of the year will feel.
Two things stand out at the Equinox. One - the Sun (Kings and Leaders) is under pressure; the Sun is what astrologers call ‘besieged’, positioned between two planets that have malefic tendencies – in this case Saturn and Mars. Two, the remarkable concentration of planets in the sign of Aries – six planets if you include Chiron – Sun, Neptune, Saturn, Venus, Moon and Chiron. This signals an overload of Aries type energy this year - pioneering, go-getting, fast moving, aggressive, assertive, self-centred – driving in new beginnings and early-stage developments, all exacerbated by the Saturn/Neptune conjunction. Wherever you are the planetary line-up and dynamics will be the same. What changes is the houses they fall into and, therefore the areas of life they affect. In the chart for the UK the Sun is in the 8th house of crisis and finances. With a fixed sign on the Ascendant, this energy persists for the whole year, until March 2027. The sense of crisis will be amplified by the Saturn/Neptune conjunction, not least because geodetically 0 Aries aligns with Greenwich, London.
As I have noted in previous blogs, Saturn/Neptune dynamics have particular relevance for both Russia and Iran. Whilst the troubles in Russia have seemingly gone a bit ‘quiet’ for now, Iran is a different story. The United Arab Emirates has found itself targeted in recent Middle East tensions - astrologically unsurprising with its Pluto at 1 Libra directly opposing the Saturn/Neptune conjunction. Dubai, the playground of influencers and those seeking tax havens, is suddenly not quite so appealing. Saturn/Neptune astrologically is also indicative of epidemics – and lo and behold what has reared its head for us in the UK?
A further outcome of other research of mine into the resonance of Saturn/Neptune conjunctions was how much they link with the development and understanding of the quantum field. With hindsight I should not have found that too surprising because studies have shown that quantum physics has much relevance to both logic/reality (Saturn) and the spiritual world (Neptune). In 1917 there was a conjunction of the two planets, and we learn that the period from 1915 to 1927 is often called the ‘golden age of theoretical physics’, because many of the foundations of modern physics – relativity and quantum mechanics – were created then. Quantum physics is frequently linked to spirituality through conceptual parallels, though not direct scientific proof. Key quantum principles—such as observer effect, entanglement, and non-locality—are often used to describe concepts like interconnectedness, consciousness shaping reality, and the existence of a deeper, non-material reality, echoing Eastern philosophies and spiritual insights. In 1915 Einstein completed his theory of General Relativity whilst 1917 marked the earliest hints that light and matter interact through quantised processes. By 1923 the wave/particle duality theory had been introduced, and by 1926 matrix mechanics and wave mechanics had been expanded, leading further to our understanding of uncertainty and probability at the heart of nature.
Most of this went right over my head at previous times I had tried to understand it all, that is until I realised two things. One is that I am not necessarily meant to understand it all anyway, and two – that quantum physics has perhaps a stronger relationship with spirituality than it does to the technical side of physics. Now, my delvings had actually come about because of my attempt to understand more about AI. AI does not depend on quantum physics to work, but quantum theory has profoundly influenced computing. Quantum computing is poised to significantly accelerate and enhance AI by processing, training, and optimizing complex models far faster than classical computers, potentially solving problems in logistics, molecular simulation, and drug discovery. It promises to improve AI sustainability, reduce training costs, and reshape neural network design. The computers that run AI exist because of discoveries in Quantum Physics, such as semiconductors, transistor technology and integrated circuit chips. Without quantum physics there would be no modern computers and, therefore, no AI. Many of you might think that would be a better world. But we have to deal with what is here and AI is here and cannot be ignored. But, what this means is that AI is indirectly built on quantum foundations.
The early 1950’s - there was a Saturn/Neptune conjunction 1952/3 – marked major advances in quantum mechanics. At the same time 1953 saw the discovery of the DNA double helix, the foundation of modern genetics, while physicists made some powerful new discoveries within the field of quantum mechanics, including the Higgs Boson particle, which would be further developed by CERN. DNA stores instruction for life, while the quantum fields encode the behaviour of particles and forces. So 1953 helped launch molecular biology and modern particle physics, reshaping how scientists think about the structure of reality and the role of information in nature. 1953 also represents the halfway point between the discovery of quantum mechanics in the 1920s and the rise of quantum information science at the point of the powerful Saturn/Neptune conjunction in Capricorn in 1989, which paved the way for deeper quantum computing research and more precise entanglement experiments. This would bring some of the most important discoveries in the quantum field.
AI is now being used to study quantum system and may accelerate discoveries further. Some physicists even speculate that the universe behaves like a vast quantum information system, suggesting a deeper link between AI, information and physical reality. Physical reality ultimately arises from information. The quantum field relates to particles, which appears unrelated to information. But particles are carriers of information, and through entanglement, information can be shared across space. This raises profound questions – is the universe itself a computational system? If so intelligence – including AI - may simply be a complex form of information processing within a larger informational universe. Maybe the universe is a system that stores and processes information, with quantum entanglement linking distant particles – indeed might the universe be a giant quantum computer, with particles acting as the information carriers and physical laws, the algorithms? Therefore, the universe would be constantly computing its own evolution. Some of the same mathematics used in quantum information theory is also used in neural networks and machine learning, which is why physicists and AI researchers increasingly collaborate. Some suggest that space and time emerge from quantum entanglement. Einstein described quantum entanglement where two particles share a quantum state so that measuring one instantly affects the other, no matter how far apart they are, as ‘spooky action at a distance’.
This blog began with a simpler question: why does it feel as though today we inhabit multiple realities– feeling as though we stand between two worlds, disconnected from one another? The divide today between people’s beliefs and views on their individual realities has never been greater. But which world is real? Probably all of them. Reality is personal, shaped by perception, awareness and curiosity.
Individuals have throughout history held widely different belief systems which have encouraged us to worship Gods to feel safe and protected. Over the centuries the Gods we worship have changed. Thousands of years ago it was more the ‘natural’ Gods that prevailed. References tell us that the Gods required ‘offerings’ to sustain them – and if they did not receive ‘offerings’ or ‘sacrifices’ they would go out of favour and cease to exist. So did the Gods exist only because humans believed in them and, furthermore, if they are not ‘fed’ do they lose influence and die out? In the epic story of Gilgamesh the Gods sent a flood to destroy humanity. But, after the flood wiped out the people, the Gods realised that if no humans remained there was nothing to sustain their own existence. Therefore, the divine world (Neptune) is dependent upon the human ritual of worship (Saturn), where beliefs must be ‘fed’ in order for them to survive.
Quantum is perhaps more spiritual than physics. But what indeed does it tap into? Does it make sense in terms of our actual reality? Is the quantum field consciousness? The study of the universe and the study of consciousness are linked – one impossible without the other and quantum is perhaps the logic of the dreamworld (Saturn/Neptune).
As AI increases at lightning speed, this will only get faster, particularly as Uranus enters Gemini on April 26th this year and the dissemination of information then goes to levels that we have never before been required to comprehend. To navigate this we must become active participants. Curiosity is no longer an option.
Einstein confirmed that time is not linear – it does not flow only in one direction. The study of astrology adds into the mix the idea that the future exists simultaneously with the past. No moment exists on its own, and the present is just a seed in which the past and future are present together. We are all merely observers of singular moments in time. But what is time? Is it merely what the clock on the wall tells you and, therefore, a human construct? And how does our participation change the nature of time itself?
We participate unconsciously, but consciousness itself is indeed an integral part of our universe – there is no separation of cosmos and consciousness. Some would say that we have entered a period of Idiocracy where we have fallen into a dark age, where new ideas and being different are something to be feared. Others might see the absolute opposite. Are you a questioning/curious person or are you just someone who wants to just live, but finds that the people with questions get in your way?
Whether we like it or not we are hurtling towards a new age and for a while it may feel that time has literally sped up. What can we do? Whatever new realities we will face at this historic point in time they will be unprecedentedly new. To deal with this future we must become participatory beings. Rather than living in an idiocracy, it is even more important that we are both questioning and curious. AI will likely never be sentient because we are humans and there is a basic difference between humans and machines which we fiercely need to hold on to. But the machine may well appear close! The new best ‘bot’ friend for many, if we are not careful, may just become more desirable than many humans – it is informative, tireless and endlessly available.
Robert Temple in his book A New Science of Heaven cites plasma, as making up our Sun and our stars, in fact 99% of our universe. Aristotle back in the 4th century BCE referred to it as aether, the fifth element. He considered that when we die the divine spirits return to the dust of the aether and that we are all children of the aether. Temple suggests that plasma contains wisdom and knowledge, as indicated by the sign of Aquarius. The new 200-year Jupiter/Saturn age of Air began in 2020 at 0 Aquarius, and Pluto, planet of transformation, began its transit through Aquarius in 2024. My question is do plasma and the quantum field link in some way? Furthermore, do they link with AI in some way? With the eruption of our deeper understanding of both quantum and AI, are we getting closer to our understanding of consciousness? And what do the astrological cycles reveal? We stand on the threshold of a new age unlike anything that has gone before. But we do have a chance to prepare ourselves for some of what is coming. Why would we not take that chance and explore?
