Miracles and Cover Ups

The UK political scene lurches from one embarrassing drama to the next.   It seems in a state of complete and utter disarray the likes of which have not been seen before.  And certainly not in such a once proud country.  A leadership race appears to be gathering momentum, while the incumbent seems to have little desire to leave.

Waiting in the wings is the ever-popular “let’s meet at the pub for a pint, mate” Andy Burnham. Burnham is a solid double Capricorn - both his Sun and Moon are in the sign, alongside Venus and Mercury. A helpful ally has fallen on his sword and given up his Makerfield parliamentary seat to allow Burnham to stand for election. There seems to be an assumption that his victory will be a walk in the park but, with the rising popularity of Reform and Restore, that is by no means guaranteed.  And, judging by the events of the last few days, he might surpass Starmer’s reputation as master of U-turns.

Then we have Fiery Ange, with her bold-as-brass Aries Sun and a Moon more likely in “I’m here - can you see me?” Leo than modest Virgo. Miraculously, she received the all-clear regarding her financial dealings just in time to throw her now spotlessly clean name into the ring. It seems highly likely she will join forces with mad Red Ed - he of the whites showing all around the pupils of his eyes and his zealous devotion to Net Zero. Ange’s luck is helped by the fact that the UK Aries ingress suggests a female government incumbent: Taurus Midheaven and Venus in Aries - Ange’s zodiac sign.

And then we have the lovely Wes Streeting, with his Aquarius Sun and Aries Moon - a Fire and Air combination that would likely be well suited to today’s outer planetary backdrop. Yet he comes across as somewhat lacklustre and a tad boring.

So who will it be, and how much longer can Starmer cling on before his fingernails finally break?  Might we have to wait until after August eclipse month season?
