Plan B

The Plan you never knew you had

and certainly never knew you would need

There’s an old proverb that says - ‘those who were seen to be dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music’.  What would happen then if you dared to sing to the music as well?

September 2025 will, I feel, be a ‘hot’ month, as we experience a total lunar eclipse in Pisces on the 7th and a partial solar eclipse on the 21st.  This blog is scheduled for publishing in between the two.  Eclipses are basically Full and New Moons on steroids, with effects that can be felt several months after and +/- a month before, dependent upon the strength of the individual eclipse.    In general, effects of an eclipse are strongest in the path of visibility, i.e in the countries where the eclipse can actually be seen.

The two September eclipses are accompanied by an unknown object that has been named ATLAS/3I.  We know that it is an interstellar object (from outside our solar system) and we now know it is green.  But we have no idea of its exact origins and, therefore, just how inter-stellar/extra-terrestrial it might be.   Comets have always been regarded as harbingers of doom.  What is this very peculiar one trying to tell and bring us?  It is the third since 2017 of unknown origin.  But monitoring them is a relatively recent thing, so we don’t really know how common, or uncommon, they actually are.   ATLAS – or The Asteroid Terrestrial-Impact System - is an early warning system for detecting near earth objects before they impact Earth. A quartet of powerful telescopes — NASA's Hubble, SPHEREx, Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS), and James Webb Space Telescope — have also been observing 3I/ATLAS. And while there's a broad consensus among experts that the object is a comet, a small, icy body that releases gases as it passes by the Sun, the data tells a strikingly more nuanced story, making clear that the object is deeply strange in ways that will make it a topic of study and comparison for many years.  Scientists have found it to have the highest carbon dioxide to water ratio ever observed in a comet. NASA's Hubble revealed a teardrop-shaped cocoon of dust coming off of the comet's solid, icy nucleus, yet it does not feature a distinct cometary tail.  One Harvard astronomer, Avi Loeb, suggested that the object could have been sent by an extraterrestrial civilisation.[1]

Eclipses often expose issues that are hidden or even fated in some way.  They are part of much bigger patterns or families.  Discovered by the Babylonians, the cycles of eclipses can last for more than a thousand years, having a beginning, a middle and an end – a bit like watching a tree grow or a story unfold.  By 747 BCE the Babylonians could accurately predict the timing of an eclipse and by the 4th century BCE had recognised that eclipses occurred as part of a series.[2]  Where did this level of mathematical knowledge come from?

The lunar eclipse (saros cycle number 128) was visible over Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia and lasted for 1 hour and 22 minutes.  It was a Full ‘Corn’ Blood Moon, so called because it appeared at the time when corn was traditionally harvested in North America.  The historic Saturn Neptune conjunction at 0 Aries also combines with this eclipse season, making it even more potent, as it heralds a new geopolitical era.  The lunar eclipse fell across the Virgo/Pisces axis, bringing the dichotomy between the subtle nuances of transcendent faith and factual reality into focus, echoing the meaning of the Saturn/Neptune conjunction itself.  Is the lesson here to trust our visions and our instincts (Neptune/Pisces) even if we can’t see them and despite our inner critic (Virgo)?

Saturn himself had at the time of the lunar eclipse retrograded to 29 Pisces, a degree where he is testing the structures and the realities of everything.  The lord of material form rekindles with Pisces energy, allowing the physical reality to be dissolved, which we sorely need if we are to breakdown and break through to a more spiritual reality.  Uranus was very potent at the lunar eclipse, being stationary and about to turn retrograde – so no wonder we saw disruption in bucketfuls.   At this eclipse period Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are all retrograde, giving the collective an opportunity to digest all the current events, before they will move forward and form their triangular aspect of opportunity – a new paradigm.

The solar eclipse (Saros cycle 154) at 29 Virgo on September 21st will be visible in the South Pacific, including New Zealand and parts of Antarctica – an intriguing area that has many hidden rumours attributed to it.  Will events in this area, hitherto hidden, be revealed?  This will be a very potent solar eclipse, even though it is only partial, because of its proximity to the cardinal global point of 0 Libra.  In the UK the eclipse will hit Uranus in the 1801 horoscope – what shocks might we see?  The Sun and Moon will quickly highlight and oppose the Saturn/Neptune conjunction, signifying global beginnings, and yet it is at the anaretic 29 degree – the degree of endings.

So what has the Lunar Eclipse brought with it?   Angela Rayner’s misjudgements have enforced a cabinet reshuffle earlier than expected, just as Starmer announced he was ready for phase 2 in his governance.  Quite what phase one was we don’t really know!   Apart from migration and the build-up to digital identity maybe.  If we overlay his chart on to that of the UK, to see exactly where he fits within the country, we see his Sun, Pluto Uranus conjunction working in the 12th house of the UK.  The 12th house, amongst other meanings, is the house representing hidden enemies – and how anyone might think he cares about the British people or has their interests at heart escapes me.

And just the day after the lunar eclipse we saw the collapse of the French government as France’s Prime Minister, Francois Bayrou, lost a parliamentary vote of confidence.   Macron is maybe even more unpopular in France than Starmer is in the UK.  But, nevertheless, he must fill the gap.  We also witnessed the collapse of the government in Nepal, as an uprising of the young, sparked by wealth inconsistencies, in turn triggered a government imposed social media ban. This then led to the burning of Parliament and violence on the streets directed at politicians.  Martin Armstrong commented that ‘Nepal may seem small on the geopolitical map, but its fall is part of the domino effect.  From Pakistan to Sri Lanka, from Latin America to Europe, the same pattern is unfolding.  The loss of faith in government as an institution has become a worldwide phenomenon and the people are beginning to direct their anger at government rather than against one another’.   This description of loss of faith and loss of trust is such an apt description of the Saturn/Neptune conjunction – Saturn (government control), Neptune (dissolution, loss of faith).

Russia upped the ante and bombed the most protected area of Kiev for the first time, whilst Israel attacked Doha where a meeting with Hamas leaders was taking place.  Where next?  Three days after the eclipse Charlie Kirk was assassinated in Utah.

The New Age theosophist and writer, Alice Bailey, a somewhat dark character in my opinion, spoke as far back as the 1930’s about powerful energies including dark forces that she considered to be incoming that would bring unrest and distress to the world. She put this down to the transitioning into the age of Aquarius and highlighted groups who were perhaps ‘wrestling with glamour’.   Very astute in our current age centred on image and ‘influencing’.[3]

The idea of a transition from the Age of Pisces into the Age of Aquarius links with the phenomenon of the precession of the equinoxes - the slow, wobbling circular motion of Earth’s axis of rotation completing one cycle in about 26,000 years (25772 to be more precise).  This wobble causes the apparent position of the stars to shift over centuries, changing which star is the North Star and causing the constellations the Sun passes through at the equinoxes to shift.  However, we cannot accurately date the ages of precession, so we could easily be centuries out with our calculation.  What markers could we more accurately rely on, bearing in mind that time is not just linear? The past and present inform the future, and the future informs the present because it demands that we arrive at particular cycles and patterns as laid down astrologically.  Planetary aspects and relationships don’t just occur, last a while and then go away, forgotten.  They are part of our evolutionary growth.

We could look at the Mayan culture, an ancient Mesoamerican civilisation, primarily inhabiting modern day Mexico and Central America.  They were known for their advanced writing system, detailed calendars, sophisticated mathematics and impressive architectural feats of pyramids and temples.  They arrived some 3000 years after the peak of pyramid building in Egypt and then suddenly disappeared at the height of their civilisation around AD 830, a Saturn/Uranus opposition.  The Mayans believed that the universe had a purpose, as well as desires.  The universe was, therefore, conscious.

The Mayans kept accurate calendars within their own timing system.  The Mayan Grand Cycle of 25,630 years equals 5 Long Count cycles of 5126 years, very similar to the precession of the equinoxes.   Gregg Braden, author and scientist, explains that most civilisations last around 5000 years. So, if we follow his words, one Long Count cycle would represent a measurement of civilisation type.   The end of the last Long Count was much trumpeted as potentially auguring the end of the world.   Of course, the world didn’t end but, with hindsight, it did mark a change in society and perhaps even a time that would bring in a new civilisation type, perhaps linked with AI.

The most recent full Long Count began on August 11th 3114 BCE and ended on the 21st December, 2012, coinciding astrologically with the historical seven ‘hits’ of Pluto square Uranus in Cardinal signs.   This was the longest alignment of Uranus and Pluto in more than 500 years, with a historical number of exact squares between 2012 and 2015, although in orb for much longer.  Pluto/Uranus squares denote some kind of great turmoil and upset in the world.   A series of anti-government protests, uprisings and wars across the Middle East and North Africa triggered the Arab Spring between 2010 and 2012, which fundamentally altered the political landscape of that area.  Power vacuums opened across the Arab world and many from those troubled lands began to migrate across into Europe.   This in turn has now reached epidemic levels here in the UK and risks a culturally divisive explosion without a shot being fired.   2014 was a trigger point within the Ukraine/Russia war and 2012-2015 were heat points between Israel and Palestine in Gaza.

The Mayan cycle breaks down into a smaller 260-day cycle, called the Tzolk’in, which tracks the Venus visibility interval (where Venus becomes a morning star and an evening star) of 263 days.  It is the sacred almanac calendar used for ceremonial life and divination, so it is likely that Venus was a particularly important planetary symbol for them.  The Mayans also marked time in k‘atuns, each k’atun being 20 years– exactly the same as our Jupiter/Saturn cycle that is so important to astrologers in marking socio economic cycles.  According to the Mayans, 2012 marked the end of the fourth age – a time of purification, before the fifth age which would be one of transformation.  Purification and drastic change were seen to be inevitable as the old order would collapse and a new world constructed.  It is said that at this time resources would be scarce, natural disasters would increase, and the people would be disillusioned and demoralised but would ‘remember’ old knowledge.

If we look 20 years from 2012, one k’atun, we arrive at 2032 and the start of a new Saturn/Uranus cycle in Aquarius.  But also perhaps a transition phase between one Long Count and the next.  Saturn represents control and tradition whilst Uranus represents the freedom mavericks and revolutionary change.   2030 itself appears to represent a big marker of change in today’s world, with Agenda 2030 and the UN sustainable goals in particular.  The Mayans said this time will be a time of great opportunity when the gods/extraterrestrials come to visit earth, bringing enlightenment that will culminate in an era of change.  They also warned of a time when differences in ideology would not be tolerated and there would be suppression of dissenting voices in all areas of life by governments, creating civil unrest and increasing violent force.  There would be a collapse of false belief systems, both sacred and secular, as a new paradigm began to emerge.  This is evident already within the current Saturn/Neptune conjunction which hasn’t even yet fully begun.

There is already an erosion of trust in governments, e.g. the UK, France and now Nepal.  It seems that humanity must undergo a collective spiritual death/rebirth before anything is learned.  Jose Arguelles, who has written extensively on Mayan culture remarked that everything we know, everything that we are, is about to undergo a substantial and radical alteration.  Is the human body/mind evolving so fast now that are we set to become multi-dimensional beings?

Pluto’s journey through Capricorn brought power and wealth to the corporates and the wealthy (Capricorn).  Pluto represents great power as well as a purging of toxins.  So, yes, it did expose the corruption that went with it, but even so the wealthy are now SO wealthy that some corporates have more wealth and, therefore, political influence than nations.  But, there will be a day of reckoning.  Pluto in Aquarius is for the people but also for technology such as AI and new discoveries.  We have to be careful of the language that has now evolved to accompany this shift into Aquarius - that we must contribute to the common good and where what we do has to be for the good of others even if is at the expense of the individual.  Ask yourself, who really is benefiting?  In 2015 (during the Pluto square Uranus season) when President Obama met Pope Francis to discuss the climate crisis, Obama stated that the most effective means of conserving valuable natural assets is often to securitise them – to assign development rights to corporations or public/private partnerships in exchange for the conservation and management of threatened ecosystems.  That would indeed bring more power to the corporates.  And, by securitise, did he really mean the monetisation of nature and the natural world?

Our Plan B has to include looking deeper into the meanings of what is said, so that we look much deeper rather than taking statements merely at face value.  It is also a time to remind ourselves that as human beings we have souls, and our souls need to follow the path they chose in this life.  Gregg Braden commented recently that ‘resilience is the roar of your soul’, whilst at the same time Zach Bush said, ‘the future is not built, it is remembered’.

As Saturn/Neptune come to square the UK (and the US) Sun, representing leaders, the astrology is screaming that a government riddled with sleaze and corruption, alongside a lack of moral concern for its people, is unsustainable in its current form.  We need to invoke Plan B now because we have to come to terms with the fact that the world will never go back to how it was pre-2020.  But then it was never what we thought it was anyway!  When we hear the music, it will not be enough to just dance to it, we must sing our own song and sing it very loudly as well.  The mavericks have a higher chance of doing more than just surviving as we enter a new paradigm.
