The Full Moon And The All-Round ‘Good Egg’
The Full Moon at 8 Capricorn on 29th June is highly significant for the UK, reflecting its Sun at 10 Capricorn. Additionally, in the Full Moon chart set for London, the Moon sits right on the Midheaven, the UK’s public profile in the world and the beginning of the 10th house of government and monarchy.
At a point when the UK is about to get its seventh Prime Minister in ten years, it appears that Andy Burnham is an absolute shoe-in, a foregone conclusion. The whole process so far has unfolded like clockwork. First, the public thought they had been denied an Andy Burnham premiership when he was blocked from standing for selection in the Gorton and Denton by-election. However, when Josh Simons stepped down in Makerfield, Burnham was finally given his chance. On 22nd June, he finally arrived at Westminster almost as a conquering hero against a backdrop of many, seemingly ‘fawning’, Labour MPs celebrating his swearing-in.
So how does Andy ‘fit’ with the UK? On paper, he is an extremely good fit, with his Sun, Moon and Venus conjunct the UK Sun in Capricorn. His Mercury, also in Capricorn, suggests he is seen as down-to-earth and an all-round ‘good egg’, as we might say in the UK; someone who speaks common sense. State-school educated, he does not speak with the clipped vowels of privilege. His heavily Capricorn-leaning personality will naturally be perceived as signalling someone who can both set and follow rules within a hierarchical framework, someone with a safe pair of hands.
While that may be true in part, is that really how it is, or simply how we have been persuaded to perceive him?
Sadly, we do not have a time of birth for him, so much remains unknown. We do not know his exact Moon degree, though he is certainly Capricorn. We do not know the houses (the areas of life) where his planets are most active. We do not know what drives him to achieve (the Midheaven), nor how his persona processes his beliefs and views (the Ascendant).
He is clearly a strong character and, coming from a working-class background with a degree from Cambridge, he must be both intelligent and driven. So, just for fun, let’s wonder whether he might be Aries rising, with Mars as ruler. That would give him a Capricorn Midheaven, which makes a great deal of sense. His Capricorn Moon would then sit on the Midheaven, which again would make sense, as becoming Prime Minister would be his heart’s desire. His Mercury, Sun and Venus would all fall into the 10th house of public achievement – very fitting.
Burnham’s Mars in Pisces, the Ascendant ruler under that assumption, would be in the hidden 12th house. That would suggest there is much we do not actually see with Mr Burnham and, with Pisces involved, that he is driven ideologically. He becomes something of an enigma. Mars is also very close to the North Node in Pisces, pointing toward who he is aiming to become. Mars also rules his Jupiter in Scorpio. Jupiter in Burnham’s chart is tightly opposed by Saturn, suggesting he swings between his deeply held beliefs and the rules of governance.
Burnham’s wife would be represented by Venus in Capricorn in his 10th house. What do we see? She, and one would assume he also by default, has benefitted from lucrative corporate contracts via his mayorship. That would again take us back to that hidden Mars.
However, this is just conjecture and we have no way of knowing if it is correct. But Burnham’s strong Capricornian bent will likely lead to a desire for respect and achievement and, with his Sun closely in sextile to his Mars in Pisces, some of my surmising will still be in play.
When everything seems to be going so smoothly to plan, I am led to smell rats.
Looking more closely at the Full Moon chart set for London, and therefore for the UK, Full Moon charts always reveal what is ‘out there’ and what has reached a ‘harvest point’. We see Saturn tightly conjunct the Ascendant and square the Full Moon. Saturn indicates rules, restrictions and strict governance. That does not suggest better days ahead for us in the UK. Neptune, close to Saturn, sits further back in the 12th house, a further indication of things hidden from view, with the potential to deceive, perhaps with ideological rules. Maybe what is being hidden has more to do with Starmer’s resignation than Burnham? We just don’t know. But the chart would certainly suggest something is limiting the public’s perception.
Mars, ruler of the Ascendant, has just moved into Gemini. Gemini often shows us two people, or two sides to a story. On July 4th Mars will meet Uranus, so shocks and the unexpected lie ahead. This is perhaps one of the most important aspects of July, auguring extreme tensions and events. Life may become more frenzied and fast paced. This is a very volatile aspect which will also potentially lead to technological ‘disruptions’ in the future of some type.
The Sun, representing leaders, is tightly conjunct the IC, the very bottom of the chart. We cannot see who our leader, or master, truly is. He/She/They are shrouded in darkness.
And Mercury, ruler of the 2nd house of assets and the 9th house of foreign affairs, sits at 26 degrees Cancer, conjunct Jupiter and about to turn retrograde. For now the talk is big, but positioned at the end of Cancer that will change.
Of course, all will become clear as we move further into the year, and once we discover who will become Deputy Prime Minister and Chancellor.
Be prepared for events that may not be as expected.
