When the Werewolves Roam
Full Moons are times of climax – times when the seeds that have been sown can be harvested. They occur every month when the Sun and Moon are opposite each other in the sky. They are times when situations and events can be seen in full light, when nothing is hidden from view. The Full Moon has also long been linked to the supernatural and transformation, with ancient superstitions associating it with madness, magic and change. The idea of werewolves transforming from human to wolf-like creatures under the Full Moon is a widespread myth, particularly in European folklore. The werewolf's tale typically revolves around a cursed individual, who transforms into a wolf during the Full Moon, roaming the night in search of prey. In many stories, the Full Moon is the trigger for the werewolf's metamorphosis, often depicted as a painful or dramatic process.
In my last blog I spoke about the pineal gland and the part it plays in our circadian rhythm. Whilst the lunar phases such as the New and Full Moons are not actually part of those circadian rhythms, they are another layer of the rhythm of our lives. Issues like anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression and schizophrenia are said to exacerbate during the Full Moon phase. On a spiritual level, our intuition, creativity and emotions are generally running high during a Full Moon. The emotions that come to the surface at this time can provide a lot of insight, since they reflect what the individual is dealing with on a spiritual level.
The current Full Moon: On May 12th we have a Full Moon in Scorpio. It has a very revolutionary and potentially awakening feel, with Uranus sitting next to the Sun. The two rulers of the Moon - Mars and Pluto - are just coming to the end of the final hit of their opposition but are still in range. If we look specifically at the UK chart, the Moon sits with Neptune, another indication that the UK is at a point where its level of spiritual awareness and consciousness is being tested.
The Sun and Uranus are both ruled by Venus, currently in Aries. Aries is a strong warriorlike sign, and Venus is currently a morning star – she is the warrior queen rather than the fluffy handmaiden. Uranus sits with the Fixed Star Algol, one of the most evil stars in the sky, represented by the gorgon Medusa, who has hissing snakes for hair. Cut her head off to try to eliminate her and another one grows. Will a leader lose his head?
So, in summary, this is a Full Moon with a revolutionary, awakening, warriorlike feel. But, whilst Venus, as I have shown, is in a fighting mood, she also has the dichotomy of being conjunct Neptune, yet another suggestion that individuals are either questioning who they really are in terms of their own spiritual consciousness or are just in a state of delusion. In a couple of weeks’ time, on May 25th, Saturn moves into Aries to join Neptune and Venus, providing a heavy dose of the reality shock that many people desperately need. Saturn sits with the Fixed Star Scheat, giving us a last message before he leaves Pisces that we must always be searching for the truth.
Round up of what’s happening in the world:
· Tensions between India and Pakistan, two nuclear-armed countries, have increased throughout the Mars/Pluto opposition, to the point where the two countries have been bombing each other. As I put this blog to bed, I am hearing of a truce. Hopefully, this is a sign that, as the Mars/Pluto opposition disappears, so will the tensions in India and Pakistan
· A trade deal has been signed between US/UK
· A deal has been made that Indian workers will be temporarily exempt from NI contributions in the UK for up to three years.
· Things are afoot in China in terms of its population and its economy. Pluto has crossed China’s Ascendant and sits on its Moon (the people). The economy there is not buoyant at all, and it seems population numbers have dropped hugely.
Moving forward: Astrologically everything since 2020 (and earlier) has been pointing towards some kind of big change. I said at the time that it could be as big as a civilisation change. Now, we know that it is likely to be linked very tightly with technology and a new technological/AI age. Many may not be fans of this, but the genie is out of the bottle and somehow we must work alongside it, whilst finding a way to embrace our humanness, so we are not replaced by it. At the beginning of the 1900s society faced progress, as new ways of travel in the form of cars, trains and planes began to replace much slower methods. But this will be different – it will be so much bigger. The changes in how we live will be enormous, as will be the effects on the human body.
We are at the preparation time before Saturn and Neptune meet and before the beginning of the highly opportunistic meet of the three outer planets, including Saturn, begins in early July. In my humble opinion, to get the best out of this pivotal societal change, it is vital that we pay attention to our soul purpose and ensure that our souls are nurtured and protected. How do we do that?
It is no coincidence that this upcoming meet of Saturn and Neptune is at the globally significant point of 0 Aries. Aries is about ‘me’ – who am I? - the individual and what the individual most requires. So we must embrace what makes us as individuals unique and, therefore, that we strive to do what we are meant to do on an individual human level in this life we have chosen. And that does not include being part of a herd, being told what to do on every level, just because the BBC have fact-checked it, or the media tells you it is this way. Saturn demands facing up to reality, the true realityof life today, together with taking our own responsibility for our lives. But, dealing with Neptune on a personal level (Aries) demands a much more subtle, divine connection. A connection with the spiritual – and that is what sets humanity apart as a species. We have consciousness and awareness. Saturn in Aries requires a strong sense of individual identity, which then renders the individual much more difficult to control.
For me everything revolves around knowledge. But not necessarily a knowledge gleaned via a university degree. It’s a knowledge that comes from looking all around – to the sides, in front, behind, above and below. It’s a knowledge that comes from thinking critically and curiously. Be aware – what do you observe? What grabs your sense of curiosity? What dots can you connect? It’s a knowledge that comes from wanting to know what makes people tick. The Book of Genesis imprinted upon us that we must not eat from the Tree of Knowledge, but we also know that religion was used to control the masses and keep them in their place.
When Saturn enters Aries to join Neptune, Pluto will be in Aquarius, whilst Uranus enters Gemini in July. That’s one Fire sign and two Air signs, all aspecting each other. The Fire puts the individual at the centre of attaining knowledge. Gemini is the curious one whose whole raison d’etre is to connect knowledge with everyone else, whilst Aquarius, in my view, is not symbolised by a jug containing water, but rather a jug of ether – plasma energy that contains all the knowledge of the world: past, present and future. And we must drink from that jug. It should not be forbidden at all. And as it is Pluto in the sign of Aquarius, we must drink to transform so that we can use the new technological world as an enhancement to our skills, not to replace us. Just as Saturn enters Aries to meet Neptune, so Mercury enters his own sign of Gemini until part way through June. This is our preparation time for being hungry for knowledge. When Uranus arrives in Gemini in early July, we will be ready for the thunderbolt that can awake us all.
A Full Moon in Scorpio asks us to dig deep and uncover what we have kept buried and hidden. Allow the Full Moon energy to bring your buried emotions to the surface. What do you see? What are you feeling? What can you use to bring about change and transformation within yourself? In the last blog I spoke about our pineal gland and its connection to our soul and those invisible senses, such as the divine connection and the instinctive behaviour that we were blessed with at birth. Our astrological map shows us our soul connection and that includes Mercury, the God of knowledge and communication. Certain strata of society might not want us to have knowledge, or indeed to use it, but that just makes it all the more attractive to me.
This triangular pattern between the three outer planets – Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, plus Saturn – will mark a crucial point in mankind’s evolution, as humanity is presented with the potential of ‘an upgrade’. With the Saturn/Neptune conjunction we have the potential for the controls (Saturn), which have been operational for hundreds and hundreds of years, to be dissolved (Neptune). We have the opportunity for our antennae/receivers (such as the pineal gland) – to awaken and allow a transformation to take place (Uranus trine Pluto). This can happen as we allow ourselves to connect with the ancient wisdom held by our higher selves and our divine essence. Once we have allowed that energy to come in, via various techniques such as meditation, we can re-awaken our senses (Saturn/Neptune sextile Uranus) and allow this next stage of our evolution to take place (Saturn/Neptune sextile Pluto). We don’t have to be under the control of the so-called elites who don’t want us to evolve; they would much prefer we live in fear of moving to another level. But we can allow ourselves to transform and experience real freedom.
